ARK: Ultimate Survivor Edition Launched On Nintendo Switch With No Multiplayer
After months of teasing and a week-long delay, the ARK: Survival Evolved Ultimate Survivor Edition officially launched on the Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe earlier this week. The Ultimate Survivor Edition is a revamped version of the fairly-mediocre original Switch release and introduces a whole host of very welcome improvements including a UE 4 upgrade.
Unfortunately, the new version release is missing one of the key features of the multiplayer survival game: multiplayer servers. The game’s developer, Studio Wildcard, assures players that they’re working on adding multiplayer and have already submitted the multiplayer patch to Nintendo for approval. The studio also promises to a series of weekend boosts to make up for the multiplayer delay.
While there’s no release date for the multiplayer patch as of yet, Studio Wildcard did reveal several dates of note for the Switch version starting with the global release of Dino Discovery on November 10th. Players in South America will also be getting access to all ARK: Survival Evolved Switch content in late November followed by a Japanese launch in January.
