Battlerite's VR Spectator Mode On Display In New Video
Battlerite. Turns out the company even filmed their gameplay trailer in the VR spectator mode.
It's interesting. You can sit in the crowd, watching action unfold as NPCs cheer around you, or stand next to the game's heroes as they battle it out, and the developers are working on ways for VR spectators to interact with players.
I like the idea that players will be creating their own videos using the tool, essentially giving you every available angle to for footage; the same scene can appear radically different depending on where the camera is located.
"This is going to be an awesome eSport spectating experience," says the video's narrator. I have high hopes.
For now it appears that you'll need an HTC Vive to access observer mode as touch controls are used to position the camera—still waiting on my Oculus Touch.
Battlerite will be conducting its first beta test from September 3rd to the 4th, but it will be a closed beta. The game will then enter Early Access on September 20th and launch as a free-to-play title when its fully released.
