Elite Dangerous Patches In Update 11 Featuring Fleet Carrier Interiors, A New Mission Type, And More
Now that Frontier Developments has delayed twice since the beginning of March.
Headlining the update is the addition of Fleet Carrier interiors that players will be able to explore on foot. Newly-added areas include a main concourse, a hangar lobby, a command deck, a seating area for Fleet Carrier jumps, and other optional areas such as a shipyard access point, a supplies store, a service desk, and a bar.
Update 11 also introduces new “Protect” missions that will task players with defending delivery routes from pirate attacks. “These missions pose a new challenge in both combat difficulty (teammates recommended) and time-response required,” said the devs. “To for these, factions will offer higher sums than usual.”
The friendly-fire system for on-foot exploration has also been adjusted to include ships, skimmers, and turrets. Additionally, attacking an enemy dropship in a friendly settlement will no longer cause the settlement to become hostile.
Players can also expect a ton of fixes and improvements to the UI, audio, optimization, performance, and game stability. Details can be found in the Update 11 release notes on the Elite Dangerous official site.
