Indie Medieval MMORPG Past Fate Starts Open Alpha Tests On February 24
Late last year, Finnish indie developer Icy North Games launched a $15,000 Kickstarter campaign to fund the development of their open-world medieval MMORPG, Past Fate. Unfortunately, the crowdfunding campaign only managed to raise around $900. But, that’s not stopping the developers from continuing their work on the game.
The studio has just announced the start Open Alpha tests on the game’s subreddit. Testing kicks off on February 24th and will be limited to the Warrior class, a handful of quests, and basic crafting and gathering. Levels will also be capped at 10. “The purpose of Open Alpha #1 is to gather information about how the game runs on different systems, how does our alpha server run and to find bugs that we might have missed,” says Icy North. “Because of this, the alpha is extremely limited so we can test specific areas of the game and open up more areas for testing in future Open Alpha tests.”
“Past Fate is an open world MMORPG where the players freedom is the key element. You can explore the vast world and its continents and islands. Sail the treacherous seas, and recruit your own crew to assist you in naval combat. Hire and train mercenaries and soldiers to help your kingdom in the time of war. Find secrets, treasures and mysteries to aid you in your journey. Practice to become the crusader and smite down your enemies or find how to wield more darker powers to hunt your prey during the night. What is your fate?”
The Alpha tests will be open to anyone who wants to try out the game. In the meantime, you can catch a glimpse of what the game has to offer in the Early-Alpha trailer below.
