Jagex Beefs Up Their Development Team With The Recent Hire Of Three Industry Veterans

Jagex has just hired a number of industry veterans to fill key roles in the studio. According to Jagex, the new of the team will undoubtedly help them expand their development capabilities for both existing and new titles.

Melissa Bachman-Woods s Jagex as Vice-President of Studio. Bachman-Woods started her career in Maxis before moving to Electronic Arts where she managed teams for The Sims franchise. She has also held senior head positions at Jam City, KIXEYE, and Backbone Entertainment. “I’m thrilled to the Jagex team and delighted for the chance to enable our teams to deliver even more great games to our players,” she said. “I’m eager to help lead Studio strategy and execution to enable Jagex to excel in its ambition to be the home of living games, building out our world-class studio teams and processes.”

James Burns s the studio as Technical Director and will be working on a yet unannounced online action RPG. Burns is an 18-year veteran of the video games industry who specializes in online engineering. He has worked for a number of industry leaders including Activision, PlayStation, and Splash Damage.

Lastly, Malachy O’Neil is now the new Director of Quality Assurance. O’Neil’s portfolio of companies includes Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Nintendo Europe, Natural Motion, and Zynga.
