Lord Of The Rings Online Announces New Mini-Expansion ‘Before The Shadow’
Standing Stone Games has announced a new mini-expansion for Lord of the Rings Online dubbed Before the Shadow. The mini-expansion will introduce two new low-level zones along with new quests for newly-created characters to take on.
The new zones, Swanfleet and Cardolan, is recommended for characters level 1-32 and will come with four new Books and a new questline that follows Boromir’s journey to Rivendell while the Nazgul hunt down Frodo and his group in search of the One Ring.
“Boromir makes his way north to Rivendell ahead of the meeting of what will eventually become the Fellowship of the Ring while the Nazgûl search for “Baggins” in the peaceful land of the Shire. Players will discover the threat rising from Mordor and Saruman's Uruks as they explore the far history of Middle-earth!”
Higher level characters will also be getting access to new content in the form of a new six-player instance, along with a new Skirmish and the new Delving difficulty system which comes with new challenges and rewards.
Before the Shadow will be available for pre-purchase in September with more information to be released before then. Coincidentally, Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power live action series will also be premiering on Prime Video that same month on September 2nd. The first two episodes will be premiering in advance in selected theaters worldwide on August 31st. For those in the US, the advanced screening will be run by Cinemark and will be open exclusively to Cinemark Movie Rewards .
