Lord Of The Rings: Return To Moria Launches On PC On October 24

Lord of the Rings fans will finally get the chance to explore the dwarven realm of Khazad-dûm when Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria launches on PC in a few short days. The survival crafting game will officially be opening its doors on October 24th with John Rhys-Davies reprising his role as the Fellowship of the Ring’s resident dwarf Gimli Lockbearer.

The game is set in the Fourth Age after the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic novels. Lord Gimli has summoned the Dwarves of Middle-earth to the Misty Mountains to reclaim lost treasure from the mines beneath Khazad-dûm, also known as Dwarrowdelf or Moria. You’ll take control of a company of Dwarves and will delve deep into the labyrinthine Mines of Moria to recover its Dwarven spoils.

“Set in a procedurally generated Dwarven realm of Moria, no two adventures will be alike, and every expedition is traversable either solo or online with companions. […] Excavate the mysteries of three legendary mountains, extract precious metals, scrape to survive, and battle unspeakable forces to learn the secret of the Shadow that lurks within.”

Along the way, you’ll need to mine for resources that they can use to craft better and more powerful gear. Mining, however, makes a lot of noise. The racket will draw the mine’s hostile inhabitants to you, goblins included, and they won’t be content with just filing a noise complaint.

Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will be launching exclusively on the Epic Games Store on October 24th, followed by a PlayStation 5 release on December 5th, then on Xbox in early 2024. In the meantime, you can check out the game’s opening cinematic in the new trailer below.
