MapleStory 2 Soon To Get Endgame Revamp Says Nexon America General Manager

MapleStory 2. It’s barely been two months since the game was released in October and players are just starting to reach the endgame and acquire endgame gear. The developers, however, have spotted a few problems with the current endgame system and are now working to fix it by revamping the endgame gear and dungeon mechanics.

“We are revamping the overall dungeon structure to enable players to choose which gear to farm and also let players enjoy different types of dungeons to diversify overall gameplay.

One of the issues with the current dungeon reward system is that there are too many possible items that can be rewarded from each run. While random item drops are a core part of the MMO genre, being unable to aim for a specific item slot was proving frustrating for those with a final few pieces of equipment they wanted to upgrade. Also, it was forcing players to only play Fire Dragon dungeon which was hurting the overall dungeon experience.

As such, we are adjusting the reward structure for the Hard Adventure Dungeons to help you focus on a specific item slot. Also, we believe this will let players try various different types of dungeons, which will eventually benefit the entire community.”

Dungeon difficulties, gear score requirements, and the reward structure for dungeons will be getting an overhaul to ensure seamless progression for players and allow them to explore and experience a wider variety of content instead of just focusing on running one dungeon. Normal Chaos Raids will also be added to allow players with Gear Scores of 4500 and up to participate and get acquainted with Chaos Raids.

You’ll find the list of planned changes over at the MapleStory 2 official site.
