New World’s Long-Awaited Cross-World Expedition Group Finder Goes Live Tomorrow
Amazon Game Studios is finally ready to launch New World’s promised cross-world expedition group finder after it was delayed last year for more work and polish. The highly awaited feature is now set to arrive tomorrow, with a whole host of new additions and improvements based on player and data gathered from the game’s matchmaking system and the activity finder menu.
Long-time MMORPG players will undoubtedly be familiar with how the group finder works. You’ll simply need to open up the menu, choose a specific expedition or queue up for a random one, and pick a role.
“Similar to Outpost Rush, any player from any world within the same region can be matched together to form a new instance,” Amazon explains. “This means significantly less time spent finding groups and more time running Expeditions. You also no longer need to build your own group by hand. These new Activities screens finally allow you to view any Expedition Entrance screen and Lobby Finder from a single list, instead of the Map.”
A group must consist of three DPS characters, one tank, and one healer. Tanks and healers will need to meet certain gear and stat requirements to ensure that they can do their jobs properly but will get bonus rewards upon completing the expedition.
Additionally, all group will get a 15% boost to max HP, damage, and healing to for the fact that you’ll be playing with complete strangers. Players who are placed in a group for a lower difficulty expedition than the ones that they’ve currently unlocked will also earn a carry bonus reward when the group successfully completes the expedition.
On the flip side, players who leave the expedition after 10 minutes without a group vote will receive a deserter penalty that will prevent them from queueing up for another group finder session for a set period of time.
