Overwatch 2 Added A Surprise PvE Game Mode Alongside Its Cowboy Bebop Event

Overwatch 2 kicked off its highly publicized Cowboy Bebop crossover event with a surprise game mode in tow – the Hero Mastery: Gauntlet. The new game mode pits up to three players against waves of bots in a 10-round tower defense battle with randomized bots, upgrades, and towers.

“Hero Mastery: Gauntlet is a new co-op game mode where players work together to protect towers from enemy bots. Collect energy and buy powerful upgrades to survive all ten rounds! Focus your skills to earn high scores and compete on the leaderboards. Are you ready to enter the Gauntlet?”

Meanwhile, the Cowboy Bebop is now in full swing, featuring exclusive hero skins inspired by the classic 1990s anime TV series and limited-time challenges until March 25. The latest game update also tweaked several classes, decreased projectile sizes, and lowered the heal reduction applied by damage role ives. Details can be found in the full patch notes here.
