Path Of Exile Announces And Previews New Crucible League Arriving Next Week
Path of Exile is welcoming the arrival of spring with the launch of the MMOARPG’s Crucible league on PC next week. The highlight of the new league is the ability to imbue weapons with their own ive skill trees and initiate extremely challenging encounters using the new Crucible Forges.
“Crucible Forges are scattered throughout Wraeclast,” explains Grinding Gear Games. “When you find one, select one of your weapons and channel the power of the ancient titans to spawn a challenging encounter. The longer you channel for, the more the molten monsters merge together to form more fearsome foes. You're in control of the difficulty and reward of these encounters.”
Crucible Forge encounters will grant players experience points that will let them unlock a weapon’s skill tree and progress through its tiers. “You can only allocate one skill from each tier, so choose your path through each Crucible ive Tree carefully,” warns the devs. “If you're lucky, you'll find certain skills that, when allocated, are worth valuable currency or unique items when sold to a vendor.”
The new league will also feature new endgame encounters which will take place in The Forge of the Titans. The new endgame zone harbors and ancient power that will allow players to combine and reforge two weapons together with randomized results.
“This process produces unpredictable results, incorporating elements of each tree as well as random upgrades, downgrades and changes,” the studio explains. “Through careful use of the Forge, it's possible to craft some incredibly powerful skill trees on your weapons.”
Crucible will also introduce a fast travel feature for Atlas nodes called Atlas Gateways, new Vaal skills, new Unique items, ive tree masteries, various Breach improvements, and more. The new league is set to live on April 7th for PC and on April 12th on consoles.
