Mainframe Industries Previews Pax Dei’s Building And Player Housing System

Mainframe Industries, a studio led by former C Games executives, announced a new immersive fantasy social sandbox MMO early last month and has been teasing fans with some tantalizing lore over the past few weeks on Discord. The latest update from the devs, however, offers something a bit meatier for the community to chew on as they offer a peek at the game’s building system.

You’ll apparently be free to build anywhere in the game world with a few notable and very obvious exceptions such as roads and dungeon entrances. Heartlands and most aboveground areas are fair game. You’ll be able to build near other players to form a settlement and scavenge abandoned buildings for resources. Your constructions, however, must abide with the laws of physics. The team will also be implementing a plot permission system and a strict no-stealing policy to keep your creations safe.

While the developer have yet to touch on PvP, they’ve hinted at other more social motivations for building houses and settlements and paying your neighbors a visit. “We don’t want to go into specifics on this right now, but let’s just say trading will be a large part of Pax Dei. There might also be additional reasons you want to visit other people, like politics.”

For those still on the fence about Pax Dei, Mainframe has released an alpha gameplay video that showcases a beautiful lakeside villa as well as the construction and destruction of buildings. You can check that out right down below.
