PlanetSide Arena Early Access Launch Set For September 19, Watch The New Cinematic Trailer

Twitter teaser, Daybreak Games has just confirmed on the game’s official website that they will be staying true to their promise of a Summer Early Access release. Granted, it’s nearly the end of the season but it’s still Summer nonetheless.

“PlanetSide Arena is an ambitious project that magnifies all the camaraderie, signature moments, and massive battles PlanetSide is known for. Modes like 300-player Squads, Sunderdome, Outfit Wars and Massive Clash will spark a new, even more intense phase in the battle for Auraxis.

That first phase begins with Early Access on September 19.”

At launch, the battle royale game will feature the new 12-player Squads mode and the 3-player Teams mode. Players will have access to three classes: Assault, Medic, and Engineer; along with a variety of vehicles including tanks, hovercrafts, and jetpacks that should be familiar with veteran PlanetSide players. In addition, the launch version of the game will also come with a host of new features such as the new Personal Loadout system, character mods, and overhauled visuals.

Daybreak also teased a new game mode coming in the future called Massive Clash, an intense 1000-player base vs. base match. New modes, classes, weapons, vehicles, maps, and events are also planned to be introduced in future updates.

“We've always thought of PlanetSide as an evolving saga that will eventually escalate beyond Auraxis to interstellar war, and PlanetSide Arena is where it will start,” says Daybreak. “Expanded factions, new weapons and vehicles, battles on distant alien planets (and the space in between) are all part of our vision. Over the next year we will begin to explore a future that will see an evolution of the empires and introduce new ways to wage all-out planetary warfare, filled with new game modes and classic favorites reimagined, all at a scale that can only be created through a PlanetSide experience.”
