Pokemon Go Demolishes Five Guinness World Records in First Month
The Pokemon craze has swept over the world ensnaring children and adults alike with its cutesy augmented reality monster charms. Incredibly, the game has broken several world records just a month after its release including being the fastest mobile game to gross $100 million and generating a whopping $206.5 million in revenue by the end of its first month.
According to the official Guinness World Records site, in cooperation with digital data firm, Pokemon Go now ranks number one in five categories:
- Most Revenue Grossed by a Mobile Game in its First Month
- Most ed Mobile Game in its First Month
- Most International Charts Topped Simultaneously for a Mobile Game in its First Month (s)
- Most International Charts Topped Simultaneously for a Mobile Game in its First Month (Revenue)
- Fastest Time to Gross $100 million by a Mobile Game
And that’s just in the first month. It’s probably safe to say that good things are in store for this well-loved pocket monster franchise.
