Pokémon GO To Add "Buddy Pokémon" Feature

Niantic announced today that Pokémon GO players will be able to assign a Pokémon from their collection to be a "Buddy Pokémon" sometime in the near future. Buddy Pokémon will appear next to you on the main game UI and in your profile, as well as "adding helpful bonuses such as awarding Candy for walking together." Unfortunately, unlike Pokémon Yellow, your Buddy Pokémon will not actually follow you around in-game.

It is not yet known when the Buddy Pokémon feature will make it into the game, but Niantic stated alongside the announcement that it has "a lot more in the works this fall."
