RuneScape Delays Fresh Start Worlds By Two Weeks For XP And Reward Adjustments
The opening RuneScape have been delayed to incorporate some of the major s that they received upon their announcement. A good number of players are apparently looking to jump into the new servers for a chance to start off on equal footing with both new and veteran players of the 20-year-old MMORPG.
To make sure that the fresh start experience is not only fun but also rewarding for players who decide to them, Jagex will be reducing XP multipliers on the servers and will be making various changes to ensure that rewards obtained from the new worlds can be made available again in the future. The developers will also be limiting the number of hip-granting bonds that players will be able to purchase and sell to just one bond per week for the first eight weeks after the opening of the new servers. Existing will also be allowed to convert the said bonds to a 14-day hip for one of their alts.
“We wanted to see if there was a way for current active players to have a path to FSW hip through gameplay – just as they do with our existing hip in the main game,” Jagex said. “Where we’ve landed is a bit of an out-of-the-box technical solution, but we're excited to confirm we've found a way to convert Bonds into hip you can use on another . This provides a path to sub up purely through gameplay, and while there will be some manual steps involved (we can’t link s as mentioned), we’re looking to make it as simple as possible.”
“We want to bring new and returning players together in one focused moment to reignite that magical feeling of starting out on a new adventure as a community,” the studio added. “We also want them to have a fun and rewarding experience as they work towards reing the current game. That’s why we’re including XP bonuses, Boons and rewards to make an experience that stands out and rewards players in equal measure.”
The Fresh Start Worlds were initially scheduled to open on September 16th but will now be opening on September 26th. The announcement doesn’t mention Old School RuneScape’s own Fresh Start servers so it’s probably safe to assume that they’ll be launching as scheduled.
