World Of Warcraft Kicks Off Its Annual Lunar New Year And Valentine’s Day Events

World of Warcraft is celebrating both the Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day with the return of two annual events this week: Lunar Festival and Love is in the Air.

First on the docket is the Lunar Festival event which kicked off this weekend in celebration of the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Dragon. As with previous iterations of the event, players will be tasked with launching fireworks and traveling across Azeroth and the Dragon Isles to collect Coins of Ancestry from the spirits of the elders.

“Every year the druids of Moonglade hold a celebration of their city’s great triumph over an ancient evil. During the Lunar Festival, citizens of Azeroth have the opportunity to honor their elders by celebrating their sage wisdom, sharing in magnificent feasts…and of course, lighting fireworks.”

The event will run until February 17 with a host of new rewards up for grabs, including three dragon costume variations, pets, pet toys, accessories, heirloom items, schematics, patterns, and more.

Hot on the heels of the Lunar Festival is the Love is in the Air event which will officially go live later today with additional quests and achievements. Blizzard has also increased the chances of obtaining the coveted X-45 Heartbreaker rocket mount.

“We’ve heard your on the frustrations with X-45 Heartbreaker’s low drop rate and feeling the pressure of having to farm the mount by cycling through as many alts as possible every day,” the studio said. “From now on, the first Heart-Shaped Box you receive each day across your Battle.net will have a greatly increased chance to contain the X-45 Heartbreaker mount. Any subsequent Heart-Shaped Boxes you earn on your characters after the first each day will drop the mount at the previous, original rate.”

Both events offer some of the best seasonal rewards in the game and are definitely worth checking out. More information on each event can be found on the World of Warcraft official website.
