The Cycle: Frontier Caps Off Season 2 With Its End-Of-Season Storm Divers Event

The Cycle: Frontier is gearing up for the start of its third season next week but developer Yager Developments has a few more things planned for the current season before it comes to a close. The studio is wrapping up Season 2 with an end-of-season event called Storm Divers and one last balance to see players through to the next season.

“Storm Divers is the little name that’s given to Prospectors who bravely (and perhaps foolishly) decide to drop onto the surface at a time where the Cycle is at its apex. Because yeah, that’s what’s happening here: the storms are raging strong and more often than ever,” explains Yager.

During the event, Cycle storms on Fortuna III will occur much more frequently, making prospecting more dangerous than it already is. The storms, however, won’t last as long as they normally do but lightning will strike stronger, faster, and more often while they’re active. As if the storms aren’t dangerous enough, the surface will also be hit by more meteor showers than it normally would, making it a much more lethal place for Prospectors.

To help Prospectors survive the harsher environment, they’ll get a small welcome gift whenever they drop down onto the surface in the form of free night vision goggles and storm-resistant armor. The event will also only be active on Crescent Falls and Tharis Island so you can still enjoy the extraction shooter as you normally would on Bright Sands.

Those who decide to brave the unnatural storms and meteors (and manage to make it out alive) will earn event-specific currency that they can use to purchase and craft faction weapons that normally require a certain amount of reputation points to acquire.

The Storm Divers event will run right up until Season 3 starts on March 29th. Event details can be found on The Cycle: Frontier Steam page.
