The Cycle: Frontier
The Cycle: Frontier is a 3D sci-fi first-person PvP shooter where players take on the role of prospectors tasked with mining resources on an alien planet. Players drop down onto the planet to gather precious minerals and scavenge for supplies while dealing with hostile creatures and other players. The concept is similar to Escape from Tarkov.

The Cycle: Frontier Overview
The Cycle: Frontier drops you into the space boots of a Prospector looking to make money by mining valuable minerals from the surface of Fortuna III. The now-deadly planet that was once prized for its natural resources before it was ravaged by a constant radioactive storm which wiped out all human civilization on it. Climb aboard a dropship and head down to the surface to search and mine for precious minerals and salvage loot from the ruins left behind by the colonizers and get safely to the evac ship to bring your loot back to Prospect Station. Watch out for hostile creatures, randomly-appearing storms, and other players who’d want nothing more than to rob you of your precious gear and resources got. Die on the surface and you lose everything you brought with you. Sell off your gathered loot to earn money that you can use to customize your weapons with various attachments, buy better ones, and craft better gear to help you survive your next prospecting run.
The Cycle: Frontier Key Features:
- Stunning PvEvP Shooter – Drop down onto Fortuna III and fight to collect resources in a lush resource-filled alien planet constantly ravaged by a deadly radioactive storm and inhabited by dangerous creatures.
- Full-Loot Death – Death on the surface on the planet means that you’ll lose every gear, weapon, and item you’re carrying except for the ones in your safe pocket. You’ll also have access to loot dropped by other players.
- Customizable Weapons – Earn Krypto Marks from salvaging and prospecting runs which you can use to buy various attachments for your weapons, including optics, buttstocks, suppressors, and grips. There’s also a chance that you’ll find them on the surface.
- Gear Crafting – Craft various progressively better weapons and gear as you earn more Krypto Marks and collect more salvage scrap materials from the surface of Fortuna III.
- Player Housing – Upgrade your personal quarters to automatically generate in-game currency, increase your stash size, and reduce crafting times.

Development History / Background:
The Cycle: Frontier is a free-to-play 3D fist-person extraction shooter developed and published by German video game developer YAGER Development. The game is a reboot of The Cycle, which was shut down on October 13, 2021 due to various gameplay issues. The reboot features more challenging gameplay, semi-persistent maps, and hardcore full-loot death mechanics.
Plans for the reboot first came to light around May 2021 when YAGER Development opened up applications for a closed alpha test while the original game was still in open beta. The game went through several closed alpha and beta tests before officially launching on Steam on June 8, 2022. The game’s launch also marked the start of the game’s pre-season which was soon followed by the start of Season 1 on June 22, 2022.
