Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Has Sold Over 3 Million Units Worldwide
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is proving to be extremely popular as Capcom reports that they’ve now sold over 3 million units worldwide.
Sunbreak is Monster Hunter Rise’s first major expansion and is the latest Master Rank expansions for the multiplayer monster-slaying series. This means that players will need to have completed the base game campaign and have leveled up their characters by a fair bit before they can take on the expansion’s content.
Players who meet the stringent entry requirements will get access to a whole new adventure and quest line, tougher versions of existing monsters, as well as new ones that are exclusive to Sunbreak, including monsters from previous games in the series such as the Daimyo Hermitaur, Gore Magala, and Thorn Wyvern Espinas.
“Sunbreak is a massive expansion for Rise. In addition to new quest ranks, locales, monsters and never-before-experienced hunting actions, players can enjoy new story elements in Rise as well.”
Monster Hunter Rise also saw a massive surge in its playerbase following Sunbreak’s launch, setting an all-time peak player concurrency record of 231,360 players on Steam the weekend after the expansion’s release. While the launch rush seems to have died down a bit, the game is still hitting a 24-hour peak concurrency of well over 155,000 players. That number doesn’t include those playing on Nintendo Switch.
